Family History Book
(2021 - 2023)
A personal project dedicated to honouring a family history told by my grandfather. The intention was to design and hand-craft an object of meaning and value, to honour the story within the pages, for my grandparents to keep and for future generations to learn about our history.
The cover design itself hints at the journey of my elders from India to Kenya to England, with visual reference to each of these flags, whilst also incorporating many other significant cultural symbolisms. Embroidery was used to provide physicality and tactility for my grandfathers deterioating vision, whilst visually echoing traditional indian embroidery that my grandmother makes.
